Voting Question: What happens if 2 parents claim child on tax?

My daughter is 4 years old her father was neverr therejin her life until now that he actually stepped up and took me to court for visiting rights. So i never got any help of him and finally put him on cuild support abt a yr from now so i get child support i always file my daughter in my taxes since she was a baby and i also got full costudy of her he can only see her once a week ok so now hes beig a bit fishy cause he ask me like 2 weeks for a coPy of her birth certificate suposly for school for financial aid but how yesteday he text me asking me if i file ky taxes already and has me thinking like i hope this dude didnt file her without telling me what would happen if hedid claim her for the first time and ididnt know im from bronx ny...
